Shawna created a kitchen that explores contrasts in texture, form, style and finish. She wanted to provide "interesting marriages between design elements that cause you to pause and really look and enjoy."

"This is the vital place where we prepare meals that feed and sustain the people most important to us," says Shawna, who also took into consideration the animals most important to us. The kitchen features a custom-made feeding station for one lucky canine companion.

"Life takes place in our kitchens, and this layout lends itself to a space that is both utilitarian and also a modern day ‘family room’. It should reflect who we are, where we have been, and where we are going."
