My clients want their kitchen to be an integral part of their living space, while remaining functional and universally designed for all users. I like to use warm woods, like teak, to keep the kitchen inviting and comfortable, providing the warmth you would expect from a more traditional kitchen, while the contemporary design gives way to a more simple and efficient lifestyle. Deep drawers increase accessibility, while pantry walls accommodate ergonomic storage at all levels. To accommodate our hectic lifestyles, I include ‘message centers’ to hide docking stations and clutter, and integrate a multi-use space within the kitchen to provide a central spot for anything from homework to buffet space.
